Follett Stock’s Exeter colleagues’ hospitable nature and general good company has become so renowned that it reached the ears of traveller communities as far away as Northern Ireland. In a rush of excitement they kindly blessed our car park with their own good company. Unfortunately we fell out over trifling matters and had to ask them to leave. Such was our appeal that the travellers declined.
So we did a crash course in evicting travellers and we were given a small talk by a chap from the High Court Enforcement Agency about evicting travellers without the need for court orders.
“Belts and braces” we thought and we got a court order for good measure.
They took the hint and moved over the road.
Lessons to take from this:
Being such nice people can have unwanted repercussions.
You can evict travellers without a court order; speak to us about it.
You’re better off getting a Court Order as otherwise they can come back 10 minutes after being evicted – but there are limitations. Speak to us about it.
Spread the word that we can evict travellers and we have a good record of doing so. Get them to speak to us about it.
As an aside, the HCEO also mentioned lifestyle searches, which, basically, will tell you whether someone is worth suing or not. If that’s of interest, speak to us about it.
