Dominic Reilly Joins Our Retained Team As Dispute Resolution Solicitor
We are delighted to announce that Dominic Reilly has joined The Jonathan Lea Network as a dispute resolution solicitor. Dominic is no stranger to us; he previously completed work experience with our firm in the summer of 2018 and was one of four candidates interviewed for our first paralegal position. Although we invited him to join us as a paralegal in 2019, Dominic chose to continue his journey at his then firm.
Dominic brings a strong intellectual property background and has worked on a range of both contentious and non-contentious matters. He has considerable experience in trade mark prosecution and litigation, as well as the commercial aspects of the transfer of IP rights in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, Dominic has assisted clients with the protection of their brands online, including on major tech platforms. He has also worked on design right disputes and Protected Designation of Origin matters.
Before joining The Jonathan Lea Network, Dominic completed his training contract with Thomson Snell & Passmore, recognised as the world’s oldest law firm, and qualified on 1 March 2024. During his training, he undertook seats in the Dispute Resolution, Corporate & Commercial, Real Estate, and Family departments, assisting with a range of commercial disputes, acquisitions, commercial property transactions, and financial and children matters.
Prior to starting his training contract, Dominic worked at Powell Gilbert, where he assisted fee earners with technically complex multi-jurisdictional patent disputes in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, electronic, telecommunication, medical, and energy industries, as part of its tier 1 patent litigation team.
Inclusive of his time at Powell Gilbert, Dominic has 3.5 years of hands-on paralegal experience at smaller firms, where he gained valuable expertise in IP litigation, trademark issues, and startup corporate matters, including SEIS/EIS. His diverse career path includes previous roles as a professional musician (drummer) and head chef.
Residing in Rye, Dominic shares his home with his wife and two young children. In due course, he will be working with Adrian Samuel to establish a new office in Hastings.
Welcome, Dominic Reilly, to our team.
