In our latest interview we speak to Alexander Jarvis, the founder and CEO of Blackbridge Cross Borders (BCB), a trans-global private organisation that assits entrepreneurs and corporations in the expansion of their products and services by providing business development, selective facilitation of partnerships and commercial intelligence.
In the interview we talk in more detail about how Alex and BCB work, Alex’s motivations and ambitions, doing business in China and the importance of Twitter in working out what’s going on in the world and identifying opportunities.
Alex has a particularly good knowledge of China and discusses the country’s entrepreneurial spirit and drive, the pursuit of the ‘Chinese Dream’, their openness to business, his attempts to learn the language and the importance of strong relationships. Alex also explains why China likes doing business with the UK, the UK assets and businesses that China are interested in and how our more open approach to China has led to the development of the London Gateway port and business district in the East of London. Interestingly, Alex discusses how taking a broad interest in business, rather than any hyper-specialisation, is important as it allows him to see and make connections, while this approach has led him to expand BCB into other locations like Brazil and Nigeria.
